Hulu is Developing a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest Far Cry game that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and debuted back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for delighting in violence and insanity with equal excitement, all while weaving gripping, socially charged stories. It’s no surprise that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two visionaries whose projects have exemplified all of those qualities.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game property, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' style by introducing a different location and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared magnificent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally accommodating, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their constant belief and backing.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style series. Each game is a take of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can change from season to season, while always exploring the essence of society through this complex and unpredictable lens, is a dream come true. I’m excited to work with Rob and introduce our shared unconventional, visionary style to the screen.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
